This Privacy Policy describes how swiads (“swiads,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our website, waitlist, web experiences, and Chrome browser extension (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
swiads’ collection and use of information received through the Chrome Web Store and our Chrome extension comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:
- We collect page and browsing-related data only to the extent required to provide user-facing features, primarily one-click saving of posts and ads you choose to capture, and related library features.
- We use that data to provide and improve those features and the user experience.
- We do not sell this data for personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising, or for creditworthiness or lending decisions.
- We transfer this data to others only where necessary to provide or improve our service, to comply with law, to protect against fraud, abuse, or security threats, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale with your prior consent where required.
1. Who we are
For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at support@swiads.com.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Waitlist / account contact: email address, and optionally name or company if you provide them.
- Support communications: the content of emails or messages you send us.
- Saved content: posts, ads, media references, captions, metrics, tags, notes, and related metadata you choose to save.
- Payment information: if and when paid plans are offered, card and billing details are processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.
2.2 Information collected automatically on our website
IP address, approximate location, device and browser type, and usage information such as pages viewed and time spent, collected through cookies and similar technologies where enabled.
2.3 Chrome extension data
During beta, swiads is designed to be local-first: your swipe library (including captions, media references, and performance metrics captured with each save) is stored primarily on your device. We do not upload your library contents to our servers as part of normal Save use.
The extension, after you install it and interact with Save features, may process:
- Page context needed to save: URL, platform identifiers, and content fields required to capture the item you click Save on (for example title, caption, media links, profile info, and metrics exposed on the page).
- Saved items: the normalized records you choose to store in your local library.
- Extension settings: preferences such as whether the extension is enabled.
- Product diagnostics (optional / limited): technical signals that help us keep Save working, such as error reports, extension version, platform or page type, and related context when a capture fails or misbehaves. This is for reliability and product improvement, not to rebuild your swipe library on our side.
We do not run background browsing collection unrelated to Save, library, or those diagnostics. You can uninstall the extension at any time.
3. How we use information
- Provide and operate the Services, including capture, library, search, metric refresh, and exports.
- Manage waitlist access, beta onboarding, and support requests.
- Improve product reliability, performance, and features (including aggregated or de-identified analytics where used).
- Send service-related messages and, where allowed, product updates you opt into.
- Detect abuse, secure the Services, and comply with law.
- Process payments and prevent fraud if paid plans are offered.
4. Local-first storage and cloud features
During early beta, your library is intended to live in a local database on your device. Limited diagnostic data described in Section 2.3 may leave your device so we can fix capture issues. If we later offer optional cloud sync, sharing, or team features, we will update this Policy and describe what else leaves your device before those features process personal data remotely.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only:
- With service providers who process data on our behalf under contract (for example hosting, email, analytics, or payments).
- For legal and safety reasons, including to comply with law or protect rights and security.
- In connection with a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition, or asset sale), with notice and consent where required for extension browsing data under Chrome Web Store rules.
- With people or systems you explicitly choose to share content with, once sharing features exist.
6. Cookies and tracking
On our website we may use cookies or similar technologies for essential functionality, analytics, and (with consent where required) marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Our Chrome extension is not used to track you across unrelated sites for advertising.
7. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy, then delete or de-identify it. Local library data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the extension. Waitlist and support records are retained as needed to operate beta access and respond to requests.
8. Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for securing devices that store your local library.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent. To exercise rights, email support@swiads.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
If you need personal data deleted from systems we control, contact us at the same address. We aim to respond within a reasonable period (typically within a few business days during beta).
10. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
11. International transfers
If we process information in countries other than your own, we will take steps reasonably necessary to protect it in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.
12. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-product notice where appropriate.
